ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Grade 1

At Praise Temple Christian Academy, our first-grade program lays a firm foundation for academic achievement and spiritual growth through the use of the Abeka Curriculum. This Christ-centered, comprehensive curriculum is designed to nurture young learners' minds and hearts, equipping them with the tools they need to thrive.

Key components of the first-grade curriculum include:

  • Reading and Phonics: Students strengthen their reading fluency and comprehension skills through phonics-based instruction, vocabulary development, and exposure to engaging literature.

  • Mathematics: Foundational math concepts, such as addition, subtraction, place value, and problem-solving, are introduced using hands-on activities that make learning interactive and fun.

  • Bible Instruction: Daily Bible lessons, scripture memorization, and discussions about Christian values help students grow in their faith and moral understanding.

  • Writing and Penmanship: Students develop writing skills through creative assignments, sentence structure practice, and neat penmanship exercises.

  • Science and Social Studies: Age-appropriate lessons explore God’s creation, community roles, and early geography, fostering curiosity and a love for discovery.

Grades 2-5

At Praise Temple Christian Academy, our Grades 2-5 program employs the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum, a proven, Christ-centered approach that empowers students to achieve academic excellence while growing in faith and character. The ACE curriculum provides a personalized, mastery-based learning system that helps students progress at their own pace, ensuring a thorough understanding of each subject.

Key Features of the ACE Curriculum:

  • Individualized Learning: Students work through self-instructional workbooks, or PACEs (Packets of Accelerated Christian Education), designed to match their specific learning level and pace.

  • Core Subjects: Strong emphasis is placed on foundational subjects, including Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Literature, Creative Writing, and Word Building, all taught from a biblical perspective.

  • Bible Integration: Scripture memorization, biblical principles, and Christ-centered values are woven into every subject, promoting spiritual development alongside academic growth.

  • Mastery Learning: Students complete activities and assessments at their own speed, demonstrating mastery of each concept before moving forward, ensuring a solid academic foundation.

  • Life Skills and Character Development: The curriculum incorporates character-building lessons, emphasizing responsibility, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
